Key Components

Arduino Uno

Arduino Uno is a microcontroller board developed by Arduino

Breadboard

A breadboard is a piece of equipment that is used in testing temporary circuits where all the holes are connected.

Motor Controller

The motor controller (TB6612FNG) enables both motors to be controlled independently in terms of direction and speed

MPU6050

This component is used to measure the orientation of the rover in terms of its, acceleration or angle using a three-axis gyroscope and three axis accelerometer.

Ultrasonic sensor

It is an electrical component which uses ultrasonic waves to measure the distance to an object by measuring the time delay for the wave to be transmitted and received.

Rover Chassis

This is the chassis which holds all the components together to make up the rover. Also includes the 2 TT Gearmotors.

Wires

Wires required for soldering and wiring up the circuits

USB 2.0 A-Male to B-Male cable

Connects the Arduino Uno to your computer to power it and upload code.

Soldering Kit

Required to solder the pins on the motor controller, MPU6050 and solder wires to the electric motors.

Velcro Tape

Can be used to attach all the components to the chassis.

Wire cutters

To cut custom lengths of the wire to help build organised circuits

Drone specific components

HM-10 Bluetooth module

Enables Bluetooth connection which allows the phone to communicate with the Arduino Uno

Hawk’s work F450 drone frame

It provides the mounting points for all the components of the drone

ESC motor controllers & Brushless DC motors

Powers the DC motors and controls its rotation by given inputs

LiPo Battery

Powers the drone

LiPro Balance Charger

Charges the LiPo Batteries

Wire connectors

Allows two wires to join together without the need of soldering

Dabble App

Allows the phone to connect to the Bluetooth module and communicate with the Arduino Uno
